Trump’s former personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, who previously served as the mayor of New York City, reportedly is working out an agreement to testify before the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021 pro-Trump attack targeting the U.S. Capitol, according to The Guardian. The publication reported that Giuliani has indicated that he “is prepared to reveal his contacts and the roles played by Republican members of Congress” ahead of the unconstitutional scheme to keep Trump in power....

Meadows walked his daughter, Haley, down the aisle on May 31 at the event hosted at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Midtown Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. Morgan Ortagus, the candidate favored by Trump, was taken off the ballot for the 5th Congressional District along with two others, Baxter Lee and Robby Starbuck, by the party’s executive committee, Tennessee Republican Chairman Scott Golden confirmed to multiple local outlets. Official challenges had been filed against all three candidates. In Ortagus’ case, Republican state legislators and party officials pushed for her removal because she had only moved to Tennessee last year....

As ballot counts for the U.S. presidential election continue today, the president falsely claimed on Facebook and Twitter that he had enjoyed a “big win,” the opposition was trying to “steal the election” and votes cannot be cast after polling closes. The claims prompted the social media platforms to clarify that the claim was misleading and disputed, rushing to back up earlier pledges to stop election disinformation. Facebook said in a statement: “Once President Trump began making premature claims of victory, we started running top-of-feed notifications on Facebook and Instagram so that everyone knows votes are still being counted and the winner has not been projected....

After months of negotiations, Congress successfully negotiated a $900 billion COVID-19 relief package and was hopeful the president would be on board. However, they merged it with a $1.4 trillion spending bill and on Tuesday, Trump criticized the discrepancy between foreign and domestic aid and demanded Congress increase stimulus checks from $600 to $2,000. “I understand the frustration of the president. I understand the presentation but blindsiding folks and doing this at the last second to me is not conducive because the American people are the ones who lose in this fight,” Reed told CNBC’s Squawk Box on Thursday....

Gillibrand, a senator from New York, did not show well in most polls, nor she did meet criteria to be on the stage for the next debate, according to The Hill....

Trump, who was in Florida for the launch of the first space flight from American soil in a decade, began by saying he had spoken to the family of Floyd, and expressed the “sorrow of our entire nation.” “The memory of George Floyd is being dishonored by rioters, looters and anarchists. The violence and vandalism is being led by Antifa and other radical left-wing groups who are terrorizing the innocent, destroying jobs, hurting business and burning down buildings....

Afghanistan plunged into chaos after America’s retreat, with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fleeing the country and the American embassy being evacuated by helicopter. Afghanistan has become a hotbed for criticism of Biden as some draw comparisons to Vietnam and warn the Taliban’s takeover could increase threats of terrorist attacks on the United States. On Monday, Trump said in a statement that the withdrawal would have been “totally different” if he had been in charge....

Throughout the White House briefings, Trump has repeatedly pushed hydroxychloroquine as a potential treatment to COVID-19, despite limited evidence of the drug’s effectiveness. On Sunday, the president doubled down on his assertions, telling reporters that the drug was “being tested now” and claiming “there are some very strong, powerful signs” of its potential as a treatment for coronavirus. “It’s a great malaria drug. It’s worked unbelievably. It’s a powerful drug on malaria,” Trump said of hydroxychloroquine....

A poll released on Wednesday by former Trump adviser John Bolton’s Super PAC found that 56 percent of GOP primary voters think that a new Republican candidate is needed to defeat President Joe Biden in the next election. While about 50 percent of all of the poll’s respondents said that they had an unfavorable view of Biden, 53 percent said they had an unfavorable view of Trump. Support for Trump’s false claims of a “stolen” 2020 election also appeared to be waning....

McDaniel’s Saturday campaign stop in Marietta, Georgia, appeared to backfire as Trump supporters who have adopted the president’s conspiratorial accusations about “voter fraud” asked why their vote even matters. The scene doesn’t bode well for Republicans as they look to hang onto a thin U.S. Senate majority that hinges on prevailing in two January 5 runoff elections. Both incumbent Georgia GOP senators, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, face stiff challenges from Democratic candidates Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, respectively....
