President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that the U.S. would send 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, the equivalent of one Ukrainian battalion. Biden described the Abrams as the “most capable tanks in the world,” and said that U.S. Defense Lloyd J. Austin III had recommended providing them in order to “enhance the Ukraine’s capacity to defend its territory and achieve its strategic objectives.” Biden’s announcement came shortly after German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced Wednesday that Germany would provide 14 Leopard 2 A6 tanks to Ukraine, and other countries also in possession of the German-made tanks would be permitted to send them to Ukraine as well....

There are high hopes that Tsitsipas can kick on this year after winning the Next Gen ATP Finals in November and the top seed was too good for Andreozzi, winning 6-3 6-4. Andreozzi was broken three times and, despite showing character to win three games in a row from 5-1 down in the second set, the lucky loser was unable to take it the distance. Two days after The Tucker Carlson Tonight anchor said she referred to herself as Dr. Jill Biden because of “status anxiety” and likened her honorific to “Dr Pepper”, he delivered a seven-minute monologue on the theme on Wednesday. With what seemed to be with his tongue in his cheek, Carlson described an elaborate scenario in which a patient on the brink of death does not receive treatment from a medical professional, but instead is given a “slide show on ethnic diversity in Delaware’s community college system,” referring to the topic of Jill Biden’s doctoral dissertation....

During his Tuesday evening Fox News show, Carlson mocked the military for its policies regarding pregnant female service members. “So we’ve got new hairstyles and maternity flight suits,” Carlson said. “Pregnant women are going to fight our wars. It’s a mockery of the U.S. military.” The controversial host’s remarks drew substantial criticism from senior military officials. Stalker weighed in with his own thoughts in a video posted to his official Twitter account on Thursday....

In its attempt to hold on to the White House, President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign has filed lawsuits in some battleground states alleging voting improprieties. During a Tuesday interview on Hannity, McEnany said the papers she held were affidavits connected to an election dispute in Wayne County, Michigan....

Recent polling out of Iowa showed that Trump had a 53 percent approval rating, the highest approval rating the former president has ever received in Iowa. While Trump’s approval rating is going up, Biden’s struggling with Iowa voters with his approval rating falling lower than Trump’s worst showing in the Des Moines Register and Mediacom poll. Nearly a year after his last speech in the state, given at the Des Moines International Airport, Trump is returning to Iowa to hold a rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines....

Kinzinger, who is also one of the two Republicans on the House select committee investigating January 6, spoke to the Illinois-based news station, WGN-TV, about his public feud with Trump. The congressman conceded that, for now, Trump appears to have won. “Yeah, he won in the short term, at least,” Kinzinger said. “There’s no use in pretending somehow I scored some major victory and saved the party.” In addition to his role on the select committee, Kinzinger was also one of the 10 House Republicans to vote in favor of impeaching Trump following the events of January 6....

Bondi was responding to anchor Tony Dokoupil’s question about whether Sondland and President Donald Trump were in frequent contact. After making the error Bondi denied Trump and Sondland had any strong relationship. “The President knows him. The President does not know him very well,” she said. Dokoupil, however, pointed out that Sondland claims to have a “direct line to the president.” Sondland has been dubbed one of Trump’s key “Three Amigos” with attorney Rudy Giuliani and U....

The report says that the labor board, which is supposed to protect the interests of workers, has “elevated corporate interests above those of working men and women and have routinely betrayed the statute they are responsible for administering and enforcing.” Trump has depicted himself as a champion of blue-collar workers. He regularly touts the monthly jobs report and the unemployment rate, which is currently at a half-century low. He promoted his 2017 bill to overhaul the tax code as a victory for workers, though an April report from the Center for Public Integrity noted corporations benefitted far more than workers did....

There have been suggestions—including from former National Security Advisor John Bolton—that Trump’s Turkey policy is being influenced by his financial interests in the country. This, some Trump critics have alleged, is why the president has failed to take a tougher line against Turkey’s recent invasion of northeastern Syria and purchase of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft system, which American officials fear threatens NATO and U.S. national security. Having left the administration, Bolton said at a private event he was frustrated by the president’s Turkey strategy....

Verret, a George Mason University law professor who advised Trump in the pre-transition phase of his presidency, has become a vocal critic of the president in recent months and staunch supporter of impeachment in light of the allegations set out in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report. During an appearance on CNN Monday, Verret said he believed that there was enough evidence in the Mueller report “to begin impeachment proceedings,” before then asserting that the newly emerged Ukraine scandal “is much worse....
